Listen to the Quran offline: download surahs, listen anywhere
On a plane, on the road or wherever there is no signal, download surah audio and a translation beforehand. Mihruna offers this without ads and without an account.
What can be downloaded?
- Surah audio: recitations by Mishary Rashid Alafasy, Abdurrahman as-Sudais and Mahmoud Khalil al-Husary, surah by surah.
- Translations: reviewed translations by the Rowad Translation Center; the Arabic text comes from Tanzil and ships with the app.
- Downloaded packs are listed under “Offline packs”; delete any of them to free up space.
Are downloaded files reliable?
Every pack passes an integrity check after download; a partial or corrupted file is never marked as downloaded. If the connection drops, that file is downloaded again from the start, so an incomplete recording is never played.
What works while offline?
- Each verse shows the surah name and verse number above it (for example Al-Fatiha 1:1) and its translation below.
- When a surah ends, the next one starts on its own; you can turn this off.
- Listening continues with the screen locked and the app in the background.
- Word-by-word highlighting relies on the online audio source its timings belong to, so it needs a connection; offline, audio, text and translation work while highlighting stays off.
How much space does it take?
Audio size depends on the surah and the reciter: short surahs take a few hundred kilobytes, long ones tens of megabytes. Download only the surahs you listen to often to keep storage low.
Offline Quran in three steps
- While on Wi-Fi, open “Offline packs” from the Quran tab.
- Choose a reciter, then tap “Download surah audio” for the surahs you want and “Download translation” for the translation.
- Without internet, open the surah and press play; downloaded surahs play offline.

- Do I need an account to listen offline?
- No. Downloading and listening work without an account, and downloaded files stay on your phone only.
- Which reciters are available?
- Mishary Rashid Alafasy, Abdurrahman as-Sudais and Mahmoud Khalil al-Husary. You can switch reciter at any time.
- Can I read the translation offline too?
- Yes. Once downloaded, the translation appears under each verse without internet.
- Will I see ads?
- No. Mihruna never shows ads while you read or listen to the Quran.
